There are poses in Yoga that resets a body part after a long hard stretch.

After a week of draining my brain of its creative juices, I consider Yoga as an overall reset for my brain. I feel that Yoga and regular exercise opens up my mind and lets it refill new ideas for the upcoming week. I think all people not just artists needs to be away from their desk especially on weekends, to reconnect with loved ones, reconnect with nature and most importantly to reconnect with themselves as not to experience a burnout. Go out. Stretch your spine. Stretch your legs. Shout when you’re feeling the challenge and release the tension that the previous week has given you. Often, an idea pops up when I am way from my computer. I just make sure that I always bring a pen and a paper so that I am always ready to doodle anytime the light bulb lights up. Surely the brain can breathe well when it is not feeling the pressure.

A real treat would be exercising with nature as a backdrop. It’s good to be in the gym surrounded by all the equipment you need but sometimes it’s better to cut through the fresh air while running or biking. Our Yoga club sometimes goes on a trip and having a session by the mountain or by the beach is an experience I will forever cherish.

So make it a must to shutdown every weekend and get out of your cage. Exercise and nature is all you need to start the week with a smile.
